My search began 25 years ago. I have compiled a huge amount of documentation from census, legal documents, land records, family bible, pictures and letters. Everything in my family tree has been verified. Should you disagree, please contact me!

As of January 2010, I have been able to trace my father’s side (Brown) back to 1802. The family story passed from generation to generation is that we are from Dublin, Ireland but I have not found any proof of that. The last document I found was the death certificate of my gggrandfather, who was John Ebenezer Brown. It showed that his father was John Brown & his mother Ann Andrews. Quite a coincidence that father and son were John Brown plus John E Brown’s 2nd wife was Anna Andrews. I believe this is a human error as the 1870 census lists his mother as, Lydia Longbottom, living with her son. She was born 1802 in Vermont.
John’s first wife Abigail maiden name unknown is my line. My main aim right now is the Brown side and finding information on Abigail. Secondly, I want to find the burial plot of my greatgrandmother Elizabeth Jane Ogden. She died in 1897 two days after giving birth to my grandmother whom I never met in Amigari, Bertie Township now known as part of Fort Erie Ontario, I have been successful with many other lines of mine and my husband’s.
My youngest brother, James Brown, submitted his DNA for the Brown DNA project. To date, we have over 320 unrelated biologically separate Brown/Browne/Braun family lines and a match rate of about 67%. We really need more Brown families from the upper USA States, Canada and abroad so if you are interested please contact the following!

I believe, that if we share, we will all meet our goal to find our original roots. My goal is to find the exact country & town or village, my ancestors and my husband’s came from. Feel free to contact me as I am willing to share. I have more information not listed, documents and quite a few pictures of different lines.

Hello
I have just discovered that Wilbur Leslie Ogden was my great grandfather. Suffice to say that it has been a long search and the answer to a family mystery. Wilbur died in 1928 in Buffalo, New York. Do you have any other info. regarding his life or death? I do know he was a fireman in 1901 in Ontario. Anything else would be gratefully received.
Thank You!
Hi John,
Hope you don’t mind I am posting part of our e-mails. If you find anything new please let me know. Keep in touch.

Hello Carol
Thank you for responding with all that great information about Wilbur. My Grandmother, Gladys Irene Huxtable was Wilbur’s daughter. She was born on July 03 1904 in Oshawa, Ontario. She just passed away last year at the age of 104. Her mother was Florence Erridge of Oshawa. Florence married in 1908 to Orville MacInally.

Mrs. Parker,
Thank you so much for all of the info that I was able to see on your site and the BROWN site. I found your name on my Great Cousin Dennis Laughlin’s Ancestory.com page. I loved the picture of John E. Brown and Anna Edwards??? I tried to save it and it would not do it. Anyways thanks for all of the research and the links!
I live and work in Scottsdale Arizona. My Dad is Donald F. Brown Sr. and my great great great great grand father is John Brown. I was also curious on my great grandmother who is listed as Chippewa Indian. The story is that she truly was a baker by trade so they used that as her last name.
Well keep in touch. What would you be too me a distant cousin?
Take care,
Fred Brown

I am looking for descendents of Henry J. brown brother to Louis and Roseita Brown. They are listed in Rock.Co. Wisconsin in 1840 and then in Henry Co. Iowa, 1850. Parents John Brown born in N.Y. and Rachel (born in N.Y.) I know John and Rachel are also listed in the 1870 census of Taney Co. MO.
I am again on this site in search of my Brown family. Your info interests me as I am looking for the native indian heritage that is supposedly in the family. My gr.gr.grandfather and mother are listed living in Rock Co. Wisconsin 1830 census with 2 children. I have the correct info on them until their deaths in Mo. John J. Brown lists his birth in Chenago, Broome Co. N.Y. I have never been able to totally link the native american part. family certainly have Indian or black characteristics. thank you for any consideration you give this.
I am researching my John Brown line, born in N.Y. 1810 married Rachel ? Is listed in the 1836 census in Wisconsin near Rock Co. I have always been told the were part Indian. Chippewa makes sense. Do you know about Joseph Renshaw Brown, Minnesota Territory, Indian agent?

Interesting site. I have recently begun researching the Shearing surname for a friend who is descended from Norman Arthur Shearing. I am not related in any way, but I would be interested in knowing if anyone is from that branch to share information.
Hello Sheila and thank you for writing. My grandfather was Cecil Frank Shearing brother of Norman Arthur Shearing. I have the family ancestry back to the exact spot in England where my Shearing ancestors lived. The only thing I am lacking is a picture of my grandfather Cecil and his parents Frank W Shearing and Sarah Gray & other Shearing ancestors. I have pictures of tombstones and some of the houses they lived in. I use Family Tree Maker software. I am willing to send you a PDF file of everything I have in turn for pictures. I will not post the pictures on the internet they are for my own use as I am making two books one for each son of all our ancestors. I have been doing genealogy for 25 years and have a lot of information. I have birth, marriage, death certificates too etc. So if you can compile some pictures for me from Shearing family we can exchange. I do not put everything on this website which is my website. I love to share so this is my e-mail address amigarii3@hotmail.com look forward to hearing from you. I will give you my home phone when you e-mail.
